A small, independent project - not a faceless SaaS company.

Founder & sole developer
Building WorkPaid out of my flat. You can reach me directly - details at the bottom of this page.
Every tradesperson I know has been left waiting for payment at least once. A job finished, a handshake, a promise of payment "by Friday" - and then three weeks of follow-up texts that go nowhere.
I kept hearing the same story. The job itself is the easy bit. The stress is everything around it: chasing quotes, chasing deposits, chasing final payments. Trying to look professional with a WhatsApp voice note and a bank details screenshot.
There are tools out there, but they're built for businesses with 20 vans and a back office. Not for the sole trader doing a bathroom fit on a Tuesday who just wants to get paid without the admin.
So I built WorkPaid. One link. Deposit paid before the job starts. No chasing.
It's early days - I'm talking to real tradespeople every week and shaping it around what they actually need. If you've got feedback or ideas, I want to hear them. My email's below.
Same payment processor as Deliveroo, Uber, and most major UK businesses. Card and bank details never touch my servers.
Customer payments land in your own Stripe account, then pay out to your bank - within minutes with Instant Payouts on (1% fee), or free on Stripe's standard 1-2 day schedule. I never hold your money - WorkPaid's 2.5% is deducted automatically, and that's all I ever see. You own the customer relationship.
No contracts, no monthly fees, no friction if you ever want to leave. If you don't want to use it anymore, just stop.
If something breaks or you're stuck, you can message me directly. No chatbot, no helpdesk queue.
Sent the quote on the drive home from the job. Deposit was in before I'd parked up.
- Early user, electrician
Finally something that's not a faff. One link, deposit sorted, no chasing.
- Early user, bathroom fitter, Rotherham
Early, real feedback from tradespeople testing it.
I reply to every message myself.
